What is It?
Tropicana is a world renowned cabaret in the Marianao neighbourhood of Havana. In the same way that Paris has Moulin Rouge, Havana has Tropicana. The show takes place under the stars outdoors. In addition to the magnificent night sky a beautiful rainforest surrounds the venue. Royal Palms, Mamoncillos, Mango and Cedar trees majestically grow here. If you are looking for the perfect Havana excursion look no further than Tropicana!

The History
Tropicana started as a suburban property known as Villa Mina. It once belonged to a man named Regino Truffin. By the late 1930’s Truffin’s widow Mina Pérez Chaumont decided to rent it out. Villa Mina was then rented by Victor de Correa and some entrepreneurial men whom he led. They wanted to start a night club. Subsequently, Tropicana had it’s grand opening on December 30, 1939. During World War II Martin Fox began renting table space at the club casino. In 1951 he bought out de Correa. Fox along with Alberto Ardura and Oscar Echemendía undoubtedly turned Tropicana into one of the most famous cabarets on the continent.[embedyt] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AwGrQ7TsS_k[/embedyt]
The Show
The show features dazzling dancers dressed in feathers and brightly coloured costumes. Counted amongst the many musical instruments are bongos and trumpets. The show also features many genres of Cuban music including Bolero, Rumba and Salsa. You must be 18 or older to see the show and you are required to wear semi-formal attire.
