We’ve searched real questions across travel forums and groups — and updated this post with the latest clarification from Cuba’s Ministry of Tourism for Canadian travelers
It’s the form every traveler to Cuba is talking about… and sometimes panicking about. Don’t worry — we’ve got you covered.
What is the D’Viajeros Form?
This is Cuba’s official digital traveler registration form, required for all international visitors. It replaces the old paper forms you used to fill out on the plane or at the airport.
It collects your personal, immigration, health, and customs information before you arrive in Cuba.
Once you complete it, you will get a QR code. This is what you’ll show at check-in and again upon arrival.
Yes, without it, you could be denied boarding!
Where do I fill out the D’Viajeros Form?
➡ Official website (bookmark it!):
https://dviajeros.mitrans.gob.cu
It’s 100% free.
Repeat after us: “it’s free!” — If a website is asking you for money — close it fast.
When should you complete the D’Viajeros Cuba entry form? Timing tips.
- You can complete it up to 7 days before your trip.
- Most travelers recommend doing it 3 to 5 days before.
- Print it and save it on your phone — you want both versions, just in case.
What happens after I submit it?
You’ll instantly receive a QR code on the website.
Sometimes the email confirmation takes a while or ends up in your spam — don’t panic, the important part is that you download or screenshot the QR code immediately after submitting.
✅ Show it at your departure airport
✅ Show it again when you arrive in Cuba
✅ Show it to Cuban Customs if they ask
Ministry of Tourism Clarification for Canadians 🇨🇦
If you’re traveling directly from Canada to Cuba, here’s what you need to know:
- Your Tourist Card (e-visa) is already included in your ticket.
- You do not need to pay anything extra.
- You only need to complete the D’Viajeros form within 7 days of arrival.
- You will not be asked for a credit card or any payment.
- Use the official site only: www.dviajeros.mitrans.gob.cu
🛫 If you’re traveling through another country before Cuba, you do need to first get the e-visa at www.evisacuba.cu. You’ll then use the code they provide when filling out D’Viajeros.
“…I almost paid $59 on a scam site until someone posted the real link — bless that traveler!”
Common Questions (Straight from Travelers)
Do children need one?
Yes, one form per traveler, including children. Parents can add kids under 10 years old to their own form.
Is the QR code enough or do I need to print it too?
You can use your phone, but smart travelers recommend printing it.
Wi-Fi is not always your best friend in Cuban airports.
Does it cost anything?
NO! — Don’t fall for fake websites charging $30-$60 USD.
I filled it 5 days before, is that too soon?
No, you’re perfectly fine. 7 days is the official maximum. 48 hours is old news — most airlines haven’t updated their websites.
Pro Tip: Avoid Common Mistakes
❌ Don’t use random websites. Use only the official link.
❌ Don’t wait until the last second. Some travelers have missed flights trying to fill it last-minute.
✅ Print it + screenshot it.
Why is everyone confused?
Because every airline, Facebook group, and travel agent gives a slightly different answer. Since 2023, it’s been:
- 1 form per traveler
- Fill it within 7 days before you fly
- QR code is your golden ticket
